My favourite form of travel. Its a simple pleasure to take your little picnic on board and stare out the window as the miles pass through. From inter-railing through Europe to local preservation railways.
GROWThe best cure for stress or a busy day, is a few hours spent pottering in the allotment. Each year we get new successes like our multi-coloured sweetcorn or complete failures. To understand your garden is to appreciate each season, come rain or shine!
RIDECycling and horse-riding, have been long time passions since childhood. Two wheels or four legs, both are fantastic ways to get explore the countryside. I learnt to ride, after my mother unexpectedly rescued a white spotty cobb with a leg in plaster with an uncertain future. He became part of our family for the next 20years.
WALKI believe walking is the most accessible form of exercise, it doesn't require expensive kit and its a non-competitive pursuit unlike other sports. For me its about enjoying every step and absorbing the environment you are in. More commonly, my walking only takes me to a local pub in the Somerset countryside but occasionally it has taken me to further flung destinations.
STEAMI have been surrounded by steam all my life. Inspired by my father's passion for engineering and restoration, my siblings and I have carried forward the steam mantra. Our summers are spent steaming all over the country in our 1933 S-Type Sentinel team waggon and our winters are spent in the shed doing maintenance!
